Lauren Novak

Director of Springbrook Christian Academy

As the Director of Springbrook Christian Academy since January 2024, Lauren has a passion for education, administration, and the Lord. She lives in Wellsboro with her husband, Francis, and has 3 children, Brendan, Callen, and Kalena. Prior to becoming the director of Springbrook, she homeschooled her children for 4 years, helped launch and coordinate Christ Church’s homeschool co-op, worked as an administrator for an online naturopath, and worked in public schools both teaching Biology and as an Enrichment Coach. With a B.S. in Biology from Penn State University and a M.Ed. In Curriculum and Instruction from Bloomsburg University, her education, past experiences, and passion to help others prompted a desire to meet the needs of local families with an alternative Christian education founded on community, where the home, church, and school work together to teach the next generations. Lauren is grateful for the opportunity to use her administrative gifts to serve Springbrook’s families and to help steward the vision God has placed before the academy as it continues to grow and make a lasting Gospel impact in the Wellsboro community.

Teachers

  • I am one of seven children born and raised in Wellsboro. I am a wife of 16 years to my best friend who also happens to be an amazing cook with a Peruvian flare. I am a mother of two energetic boys and a spunky girl ages 13, 11, and 8.

    My classroom teaching experience spans the globe including a semester in Malaysia, five years in Peru, and two years at a local private school. I have been homeschooling my children for the past nine years. I love spending time with my family, exercise, and all things outdoors. Hiking, long walks, running, push mowing, flower gardening, and critter finding with my children are some of my greatest joys.

  • I’ve been married to my best friend for 26 years. Together we have five children, two daughters-in-law, and 2 grandchildren. I have 17 years of homeschool experience, and I’ve been teaching at Springbrook since its inception in 2023. I enjoy exploring new places, improving my health, a good cup of coffee, and spending time with my family.

  • I am a pastor's wife and mom to four. I taught in upper elementary/middle school classrooms before homeschooling for ten years. I'm thrilled to be able to teach Language Arts to 4th-8th grade because I believe that our words matter (Colossians 4:6). I love music, long walks, gardening, and chocolate in any form.

  • I am a wife of 20 years. Mother to four children, ages 7-13. I homeschooled for 6 years and taught in a local Christian school for the last 3 years. I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, and the beach.

  • I am originally from Tennessee. I met my husband while teaching there. We decided to move to his home state of PA in 2003. We have 2 sons. While living in TN I taught middle school in the public schools. Since moving to PA, I have been a substitute, a teacher with Head Start, an owner of a daycare, and a teacher in a Christian school. I like to go camping with my family and enjoy reading and taking walks.

  • I am a native of Wellsboro. I served as a teacher, principal, and superintendent in the public school system for 40 years. I am married, have 2 daughters, and 4 grandchildren. I love spending time with my family and running.

  • After getting my music education degree from Mansfield University in 2023, I taught K-8 music and choir in Lock Haven and was later blessed to join Springbrook! I now live in Wellsboro with my husband and serve on staff at Christ Church as our children’s ministry director. Aside from music, I enjoy all things art or outdoor related, including pottery, theatre, horseback riding, hiking, biking, backpacking, and canoeing.

  • I recently left a 20 year art teaching position in public school and dove into a year of homeschooling. I am a mother to a teen boy, Nicholas, and wife to Aaron. Our family loves spending time together working with horses, hiking, and eating pizza!

  • I grew up outside of Lebanon, PA before moving to Wellsboro in 2010.  I graduated from Mansfield University in 2015 with a degree in Biology and Safety Management.  My husband and I have been married for 12 years and have one daughter.  I enjoy gardening and a good iced coffee.
